In anticipation of the competition, a meeting was held organized by the Department of Physical Culture and Sports, Tourism, and Youth Policy of the mayor's office. The details of the capital team's participation on the international stage were discussed.
The team consists of the following members:
- Barsbek Rayymbekov (born in 2007);
- Daniil Lepikhov (born in 2007);
- Rustam Islamov (born in 2007);
- Akak Keneshova (born in 2006).
The Asian Fencing Championship will take place in Jakarta from February 22 to 28. Bishkek will be represented by four athletes at this competition.
According to the team's coach, Alexander Chernykh, the athletes are currently at a training camp in Tashkent, which will last until February 19. Then, preparatory tournaments are planned in Sochi until February 21.
During the meeting, the athletes were given encouraging advice, wishes for successful performances and high achievements, as well as a worthy representation of the Kyrgyz Republic at the championship.
