The national championship in sports wrestling among boys under 17 years old (U17) began its work on February 5 at the Sports Palace named after Kaba Uulu Kozhomkul. This information was provided by the State Agency for Physical Culture and Sports of Kyrgyzstan.
At the opening of the event, the Deputy Director of the agency, Ulan Kydyrbaev, as well as representatives of the Wrestling Federation, athletes, coaches, and spectators were present.
In his welcoming speech, Ulan Kydyrbaev wished the participants good luck and high results, emphasizing the importance of such competitions for improving the skills of youth and preparing a reserve for the national team.
At the end of the championship, the winners who took the I, II, and III places will be awarded medals and diplomas, and will also have the opportunity to join the national team of Kyrgyzstan to participate in the Asian Championship, World Championship, and other international tournaments in 2026.
On the first day of the tournament, matches were held among girls in the age category up to 17 years. The competitions cover various weight categories: 40, 43, 46, 49, 53, 57, 61, 65, 69, and 73 kg.
