At the 2026 Australian Open, Kazakhstani tennis player Elena Rybakina triumphed by defeating Aryna Sabalenka, who holds the top spot in the world rankings.
The final match of the tournament lasted 2 hours and 18 minutes and ended with a score of 6:4, 4:6, 6:4 in favor of Rybakina. Despite finding herself in a difficult position in the third set with a score of 0:3, she managed to regain the initiative and win the match.

The tournament winner received a prize of approximately $2.88 million, while Aryna Sabalenka, the runner-up, earned $1.149 million.

For 26-year-old Elena Rybakina, this is her second title at Grand Slam tournaments. She won the Australian Open for the first time in her career, having previously won Wimbledon in 2022. Rybakina now has 12 WTA titles in singles.
