On January 30, five wrestlers from Kyrgyzstan competed in the tournament.
The best result among them was shown by Arslan Budazhapov, who reached the quarterfinal stage in the 79 kg category. In his first two matches, he won against wrestlers from Dagestan and Cuba, but in the quarterfinals, he lost to an athlete from the Bryansk region, who, in turn, lost in the semifinals, thus depriving Budazhapov of a chance for bronze.
Aruuke Kadyrbek kyzy, competing in the 53 kg weight category, initially won against Aziza Keldibekova but then suffered a defeat to a Russian athlete.
Elina Karabalaeva (53 kg) and Tancholpon Kybalbekova (57 kg) also could not advance further and were eliminated from the medal contention, losing in their first matches.
On the first day of the tournament, three Kyrgyz women also failed to win medals.
