Preparation of Champions and National Health: Sports Development Program until 2030
A new approach to the system of physical culture and sports has been proposed in Kyrgyzstan. The draft resolution "On the Approval of the Program for the Development of Physical Culture and Sports of the Kyrgyz Republic until 2030" has been submitted for public discussion by the State Agency for Physical Culture and Sports.
This program, designed until 2030, aims not only at preparing champions but also at forming an active and healthy society. As stated in the justification, it has been developed in accordance with the National Program for the Development of the Country and is intended to improve the health of the population, increase physical activity, and strengthen Kyrgyzstan's position in the international sports arena.
Main Changes
The authors of the program note that the sports sector faces a number of serious problems, such as low levels of public participation, outdated infrastructure, fragmented management, a lack of qualified coaches, and the absence of a unified sports medicine system. The new program is expected to serve as a "roadmap" for addressing these issues.
Sports for All
The main focus is on popularizing accessible sports. Plans include engaging people of all ages and social groups in regular physical activities, expanding inclusive infrastructure, and supporting sports sections in schools and enterprises. There are also plans to create a three-tiered competition system — from district to national levels.
Digital Transformation
A significant emphasis is placed on the digitalization of the sports sector. Plans include the implementation of electronic achievement tracking, digital passporting of facilities, the creation of online platforms, and integration with the "Tündük" system. These measures are expected to enhance transparency in the sports sector.
From Traditional Games to Esports
The program covers not only Olympic sports but also supports national, non-Olympic, and new types, such as esports. Special attention is given to preparations for the World Nomad Games, which will take place in 2026, including the selection of the national team and the preparation of sports venues.
Development of Human Resources
A key aspect of the program will be the development of human resources: improving the qualifications of coaches, implementing retraining, and modernizing training standards for specialists. There are also plans to optimize the work of state sports institutions to enhance their efficiency.
Support for Athletes
The program includes social support measures for athletes and coaches, such as one-time rewards, salary increases, and the introduction of a scholarship system. Decisions will be made by the cabinet of ministers in stages.
Sports Medicine
Special attention is given to sports medicine. It is planned to open branches of sports medical centers in each region, and the existing Sports Medicine Center will be modernized with expanded functions and staff.
Training of Reserves
Another important initiative will be the establishment of a Center for the Training of Youth National Teams, which will unite the efforts of sports schools and national teams, ensuring systematic training of reserves and motivation for young athletes.
The draft Program for the Development of Physical Culture and Sports until 2030 has been submitted for discussion. It is expected that after its refinement, it will become the basis for long-term state policy in the field of sports.
