In the Issyk-Kul region, in the rural district of Khan-Tengiri of the Ak-Suu district, an international freeride tournament has begun, reports Turmush correspondent.

Participants have come not only from Kyrgyzstan but also from nearly 20 countries around the world, including skiing and snowboarding enthusiasts.

The tournament includes competitions in several categories: beginners, professionals, and women. Participants showcase their skills on steep snowy slopes, focusing on speed, precision, and safety. Some perform complex elements with spins.

The winners of the tournament will receive licenses that allow them to participate in international freeride competitions. The judging panel consists of experts working under the international FWT system: Gael Ribordi from Switzerland, Vasily Nemchenko, and Tahir Damenbaev.

The main goal of this event is to promote Kyrgyzstan as an international winter tourism center, develop extreme sports, and create opportunities for experience exchange among athletes.
