"Real Madrid" appointed Alvaro Arbeloa as the head coach of the first team

The club decided to replace the coach after the failure in the Super Cup final, where "Real" lost to "Barcelona" with a score of 2:3.

Xabi Alonso completed his work at "Real" after 28 matches, leaving the team in second place in the La Liga table with 45 points after 19 games, just four points behind the leader — "Barcelona." Despite the positive results, the club's management expressed dissatisfaction with the lack of tactical flexibility and the team's inconsistent performance in important matches.

Álvaro Arbeloa, who has been coaching "Castilla" since June 2025, spent his career in the "Real" academy, managing the U14, U16, and U19 teams. Under his leadership, the U19 youth team won three trophies in the 2022-2023 season (League, Copa del Rey, and Champions Cup), as well as winning the League in the 2024-2025 season.

In his new position, Arbeloa intends to stabilize the team's performance, bring clarity and intensity to the matches, and strengthen "Real's" position in the remaining part of the season. Despite Alonso's departure, he had the support of the players, who emphasized that the responsibility for the results should be shared between the coach and the players.
