Ex-Chelsea Academy Footballer Musonda Reports Critical Condition
A 33-year-old Belgian, who joined the Chelsea academy from Anderlecht in 2012 along with his brothers Tika and Charlie, spent two seasons in the club's youth teams. He later returned to Belgium, where he played for Mechelen, as well as in lower league Spanish clubs Llagostera and Palamós, and for the Congolese club TP Mazembe. He played nine matches for the Belgium U21 national team. He ended his professional career in 2020.
In his emotional social media post, Musonda spoke about his two-year battle with serious illnesses, thanking his family, friends, and fans for their support and prayers. He emphasized that he continues to fight despite his extremely difficult condition.
His words resonated significantly within the football community. In subsequent statements, he expressed a desire to be remembered as a humble person who valued everyone he met on his life and sports journey.
