Today, at the session of the Bishkek city council, deputy Maksat Alymbekov announced that there are individuals living in municipal apartments who have no connection to the mayor's office.

According to Alymbekov, there are several municipal apartments in the capital where employees of the mayor's office are registered, but among them are those who received housing without being municipal workers. "We have created a working commission to study this issue. Are there any results? I suggested providing alternative housing for such people, and transferring the vacated apartments to those who work in the mayor's office but rent housing," the deputy noted.

Deputy Mayor Azamat Kadyrov explained that each request is considered individually.

"Currently, we have 198 municipal premises on our balance. They are mainly located on Suvanberdieva Street, where both state and municipal employees live. There are also facilities, such as dormitories, on Fuchik Street," he added.

The elected representatives also reminded that according to existing agreements, construction companies are required to allocate 10 percent of apartments for the mayor's office.

However, the deputy mayor could not specify how many apartments could be transferred to the municipality, as the process of commissioning new buildings is not yet complete.
