In Bishkek, on April 1, 2026, a shutdown of drinking water supply is scheduled from 9:00 AM to 10:00 PM for residential buildings, educational institutions, kindergartens, medical facilities, and other social and industrial establishments. According to the city administration, this decision is related to necessary work.
According to local authorities, the areas where water supply will be interrupted include:
- Lermontov, Auezov, Sh. Baatyr, and Kolbaev streets, as well as the TETs-Tokmak canal;
- the Alamedin microdistrict and the Builders' Town.
The reason for the shutdown is the reconstruction at the "Kadjisay" water intake and the modernization of the city's water supply networks.
