Previously, schools independently submitted applications for the required number of places in first grades, and based on these applications, the ministry established quotas. Now, however, the calculation will be based on the number of students in fourth grades.
According to Muzulmanov, "Elementary school ends after the fourth grade. The number of formed first grades will depend on the number of teachers who will be available."
At the moment, the size of the quota has not yet been established.
Earlier, the ministry approved a new procedure for the electronic registration of children. According to this procedure, in the "Electronic Registration" system, the number of places in the first grade will be calculated automatically based on the number of students who studied in the fourth grades in the previous academic year.
If the following number of students is observed in the fourth grades:
- more than 42 students in each class — 42 places will be opened in the first grade;
- from 25 to 41 students — the number of places in the first grade will equal the actual number of students, but the school principal may increase the quota to 42 places if this is done no later than three working days before the start of the first stage of electronic registration;
- fewer than 25 students — at least 25 places will be established in the first grade.
