The concluding event of the "Justice for All" (JUST4ALL) project, aimed at reforming criminal justice and its digitalization, took place in Bishkek. The event, held on March 26, gathered high-ranking participants, including Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Justice Ayaz Baetov, Head of the Legal Department of the President and the Cabinet of Ministers Almaz Ailchieyev, Deputy Prosecutor General Umutkan Konkubaeva, as well as representatives from various government institutions and international organizations.
Since 2022, the project, implemented with financial support from the European Union in collaboration with UNDP and the Ludwig Boltzmann Institute, has shown impressive results. In particular, there has been a noted decrease in the number of prison sentences and a reduction in the overall prison population.
Probation in Kyrgyzstan has quickly established itself as an important component of justice and, according to international experts, has become one of the best practices.
It is important to note that an integrated system has been created, covering all stages of the criminal process—from case registration to the execution of court decisions.
The highlight of the event was the signing of the implementation program for the second phase of the project, which focuses on further digital transformation and the continuation of reforms in the field of justice.
The Ministry of Justice expressed gratitude to the Prosecutor General's Office and international partners for their support and cooperation within the framework of this project.
