

The Ministry of Transport reports that work has begun on the second layer of asphalt on the Issyk-Kul bypass road, in the area of the Korumdu-Balbay Baatyr section.
In addition, preparations for the foundation of sidewalks and bicycle paths continue, as well as the installation of drainage pipes.
This section covers 17 settlements. To enhance road safety, all necessary technical standards are being followed, and temporary guides and road signs have been installed in the relevant areas.
It is worth noting that work on this project began on April 1, 2024. The project involves expanding the road to four lanes, creating sidewalks and bike paths, as well as constructing two underground passages, 14 bridges, and 877 drainage pipes.
Since the beginning of the 2025 construction season, the lower layer of asphalt has already been laid over 79.2 km, and the upper layer over 20.7 km. In addition, work on the construction and reconstruction of 14 bridges and two underground passages is nearly complete.
