Lack of traffic lights, street lighting, and video surveillance: What was discussed at the meetings in the Batken region
The events, which took place from March 24 to 29, were organized to create an open dialogue between the internal affairs bodies of Kyrgyzstan and the population, as well as to increase the transparency of police work.
Initially, the head of the Department of Internal Affairs met with residents of the Leilek district and the city of Suluktu, where he spoke about measures for crime prevention, police activities, support from the Ministry of Internal Affairs, as well as new buildings and digital services. There was no expressed dissatisfaction with the police's work in these localities.
In the Kadamjai district, important aspects of road safety were discussed at the meeting, and some issues were resolved immediately.
Then, in Kyzyl-Kiya, residents made suggestions for improving street lighting and installing video cameras to enhance safety levels.
At the meeting in Batken and the Batken district, social issues, cybersecurity concerns, regulation of migrant activities, and the lack of traffic lights were discussed.
Overall, residents of the Batken region did not express dissatisfaction with the police during the meetings.
