Journalist Turmush conducted an interview with Bediarbek, who has been entrusted with an important task — to deliver water from his region to the venue of the World Nomad Games.
He was chosen from among twenty candidates. Bediarbek serves in the special forces company "Shumkar" of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Kyrgyzstan, located in Manas.
He is a professional athlete and won the title of champion of Kyrgyzstan in sambo in 2021.
Originally from the village of Jany-Dyikan in the Suzak district, Bediarbek has been serving in the "Shumkar" regiment since 2018. He shares: "Since childhood, I dreamed of serving in law enforcement. Sports have always been a part of my life, so I find it easy to adapt to service — physical training is very important. Many employees in our department also engage in sports and take pride in their country. The leadership supports us in this."

In collaboration with the administration of the Suzak district and the leadership of the regiment, it was decided to nominate Bediarbek as a "baatur." "I submitted all the necessary documents and passed the interview, where there were 19 other strong and well-known athletes. However, I was chosen. The main criterion was physical fitness, and now I am combining work with intensive training. My family is very happy with this news," he says.
Bediarbek is the youngest of five children. He is currently the head of his family and is raising two daughters.
Turmush also reported that as part of the cultural project "Birimdik Kerbeni" ("Caravan of Unity"), Bediarbek is to deliver sacred water from the source near the mausoleum of the prophet Idris in the Chatkal district to the capital.
Bediarbek's height is 202 cm.
In 2021, he became the champion of Kyrgyzstan in sambo and is a medalist of the Gordeev Championship, as well as a medalist of the Ministry of Internal Affairs Championship of Kyrgyzstan in 2023.
The working group has determined that the source of the water will be an underground spring at the mausoleum of the prophet Idris, and the ceremony for collecting water in a special vessel called "kökör" is scheduled for June 10–15.
"The Caravan of Unity" is a national water relay symbolizing the value of life and the unity of the people of Kyrgyzstan at the World Nomad Games. The selection of "baatyrs" and iconic water sources will be completed by June 2026.
In June 2026, the main "baatur" of the country will ascend to the glaciers of Khan-Tengri peak to fill the main "kökör" with meltwater, while ceremonies for filling vessels will take place simultaneously in the regions.
By August 15, 2026, "baatyrs" from all regions will deliver the vessels to Bishkek to a central water storage site that will be open to visitors.
On August 31, 2026, the day of the opening of the VI World Nomad Games, a ceremonial caravan will head to the capital's stadium.
Organizers note that during the opening ceremony, water from all regions of Kyrgyzstan, as well as water brought by delegations from participating countries, will be combined into a single stream, symbolizing global unity, harmony, and mutual respect among nations.
