Athlete 202 cm tall from special forces will become a "baatyr" at the World Nomad Games
To select candidates, a special working group was established under the office of the presidential representative in the Jalal-Abad region. Among 19 contenders, Bediarbek Kadyrbek uulu was chosen — an officer of the special forces regiment of the Internal Affairs Department of the Jalal-Abad region. His candidacy impresses not only with his sports achievements but also with his physical attributes (the athlete's height is 202 cm).
Bediarbek won the Kyrgyzstan sambo championship in 2021, is a prizewinner of the Gordeev championship, and a medalist of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Kyrgyzstan championship (2023).
The working group also identified the water source — an underground spring near the mausoleum of the prophet Idris in Chatkal. The ceremony for collecting water in a special vessel — "kökör" — is scheduled for June 10–15.
"Caravan of Unity" represents a national water relay, symbolizing the value of life and the unity of the people of Kyrgyzstan at the World Nomad Games. Until June 2026, the selection of "baatyrs," ambassadors of the project, and iconic water sources will be completed in all regions.
In June 2026, the main "baatur" of the country will ascend to the glaciers of Khan-Tengri Peak to fill the main "kökör" with meltwater. Simultaneously, solemn ceremonies for filling regional vessels will take place in all regions.
By August 15, 2026, "baatyrs" from all seven regions will deliver the vessels to Bishkek to the main water storage site, which will be open to visitors.
On August 31, 2026, the day of the opening of the VI World Nomad Games, a ceremonial caravan will head to the stadium in the capital.
According to the organizers, during the opening ceremony, water from all regions of Kyrgyzstan and water brought by delegations from participating countries will be combined into a single stream. This ritual will symbolize global unity, harmony, and mutual respect among nations.
