At the GKNB, threats of extremism and the impact of crises in the Middle East were discussed
Specialists from the Anti-Terrorism Center and various divisions of the State Committee for National Security participated, including departments for combating terrorism, as well as intelligence and counterintelligence, along with experts from territorial bodies.
The main focus was on analyzing the operational situation in the Kyrgyz Republic related to manifestations of international terrorism and religious extremism. An important issue was the rehabilitation and integration of citizens returning from conflict zones such as Syria and Iraq.
During the discussion, the connection between crises in the Middle East and the situation in the country in both religious and socio-political spheres was also examined.
Experts presented a detailed analysis of changes in the ideology of terrorist groups and the potential threats of spreading destructive ideas through information channels and migration.
As a result of the meeting, participants developed forecasts for the development of the situation in the medium and long term and emphasized the importance of cooperation between government agencies, the scientific community, and religious organizations to ensure national security.
