An exhibition dedicated to the art of ebru will be held at the Kyrgyz National Museum of Fine Arts named after Gapar Aitiev. The event will take place from March 31 to April 3 and is organized by the "Ebristan" foundation with the support of the Turkish embassy.
The exhibition will showcase works by talented masters, and attendees will have the opportunity to witness live demonstrations of the ebru technique. The honorary guest will be Hikmet Barutçugil — an outstanding ebru master, honored with the title of "Living Human Treasure" by UNESCO. His student, Kyrgyz artist Mukhlisa Imamova, will also showcase her works and contribute to the popularization of this art in Kyrgyzstan.
Additionally, the program includes the creation of the flags of Kyrgyzstan and Turkey using the ebru technique, as well as the depiction of the Aigul flower — the symbol of the Batken region. Visitors will be able to observe the process of creating unique artworks and immerse themselves in the nuances of this art form.
The organizers emphasize that ebru, being part of the cultural heritage that has traveled from Central Asia to Anatolia, embodies the connection between tradition and modernity. The exhibition aims to strengthen cultural relations between Kyrgyzstan and Turkey.
The opening ceremony of the exhibition will take place on March 31 at 15:00.
