From March 23 to 31, 2026, Turkey will host the VIII International Theater Festival "Samsun," in which the Bishkek City Dramatic Theater named after Arsen Umuraliyev will participate. This information was announced by the press service of the capital's municipality.
The festival, timed to coincide with the celebration of International Theater Day, will gather creative teams of various levels—from state to amateur—from many countries, providing a platform for cultural exchange and collaboration.
The theater will present its season premiere—a tragicomic parable "Takteke," based on the work of the outstanding folk poet of Kyrgyzstan, Kiyalbek Urmanbetov.
This performance explores the deep philosophical theme of a person who has lost connection with nature and faced internal conflicts.
The production skillfully combines elements of ancient epic and modern realities, offering viewers both deep meaning and a lively sense of humor. The performance has already received high praise from audiences in Bishkek and will now be presented on the international stage of the festival.
