In their appeal, they noted that the Union of Artists building has nearly a ninety-year history and has long served as a center for the development of visual arts, exhibitions, creative meetings, and various cultural events.
“This structure is not just a building, but an important element of the national cultural fund, where new generations of artists were formed and significant exhibitions took place,” the letter states.
The appeal also emphasizes that at different times, the Union of Artists has been led by outstanding masters who made significant contributions to the development of art in Kyrgyzstan.
The authors of the letter expressed their concern about the fate of the building, pointing out that changes in ownership or further use of the property could lead to a loss of its historical and cultural significance.
In this regard, the Union of Artists put forward several requests:
- to preserve the building in its current condition;
- to grant it the status of a state-protected site;
- to ensure legal and sustainable conditions for the organization's work.
Union representatives are confident that the loss of the building would negatively impact not only the creative community but also the cultural heritage of the entire country.
At the end of the letter, the authors expressed hope for the president's support in matters of preserving national cultural values.
