At the parliamentary meeting held on March 19, Marlen Mamataliyev announced that the number of women deputies in the Jogorku Kenesh has reached 31, which is a historic achievement in the context of gender equality in Kyrgyzstan.

The 31st woman deputy is Mavlyuda Kalberdieva.

According to the speaker, Kyrgyzstan now holds a leading position in the world in terms of the percentage of women in legislative bodies, according to data from the Inter-Parliamentary Union.

Mamataliyev noted: "Yesterday we welcomed the 31st woman deputy. This is an update of our record. Women are also represented in the presidium and in the leadership of committees, where a rotation has taken place. We not only meet but exceed the gender quota of 30%. Furthermore, for the first time in history, women have taken leadership positions in international friendship groups."

It is worth noting that Mavlyuda Kalberdieva replaces Shairbek Tashiev in her position.
