He was called to the front in January 1944.

During the military actions, he participated in battles near Voronezh and Volgograd (Stalingrad), and also fought on the territory of Ukraine, serving in Vladivostok and Khabarovsk.

After the end of the war in Europe, he was redirected to the Far East, where he fought against Japan, returning home with the long-awaited victory.

Mamassali Jumayev is survived by 9 children, 35 grandchildren, 75 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild.

In his final interview for Turmush in 2025, he bitterly recalled the trials of the front: “On the front line, we cried just from smelling a piece of bread, and we shared every crumb equally with our comrades-in-arms.”
