This result ranks third in UFC history. Leading this list is Khabib Nurmagomedov, who executed 21 takedowns in his fight against Abel Trujillo at UFC 160; he is a Hall of Fame member and a former UFC lightweight champion.
The second place is held by the current bantamweight champion Merab Dvalishvili, who completed 20 takedowns in his fight against Cory Sandhagen at UFC Fight Night 221.
After his successful performance, Orolbai shared his ambitious plans, stating his intention to break the existing record in his next fight.
“In my next bout, I will try to achieve even more takedowns,” noted the Kyrgyz fighter at the post-match press conference, emphasizing his aspirations for the top of the division.
