Bas-relief with Lenin sold for 2000 soms at a flea market
According to Turmush correspondent, over the weekend at the "bargain market" in the Chuy region, a large artistic bas-relief depicting the leader of the world proletariat and one of the founders of the USSR, Vladimir Ilyich Lenin, caught the attention of visitors.
“The sculpture stood out due to its impressive size—about 60 by 70 centimeters. It was made from an aluminum alloy. Such bas-reliefs were mass-produced in the USSR from the 1960s to the 1980s and were used to decorate the buildings of cultural houses, entrances to large factories and plants, as well as city squares,” said local historian Maxim Podgorny.
On the same day, the bas-relief was purchased by one of the visitors to the flea market for the specified amount.
