The results of the analyses now have international recognition.
The laboratories operating under the auspices of the Department of Environmental Monitoring of the Ministry of Natural Resources, Ecology, and Technical Supervision of Kyrgyzstan have successfully passed accreditation according to the international standard GOST ISO/IEC 17025-2019. The relevant information was published by the ministry's press service.
The obtained accreditation indicates that both the equipment and the research methods, as well as the qualifications of the laboratory staff, meet global standards. The laboratories have also received the right to use the ILAC (International Laboratory Accreditation Cooperation) logo, which is considered an international quality mark for testing laboratories.
According to the ministry, this means that the results of analyses conducted in the laboratories of Osh, Batken, and Jalal-Abad will be recognized at the international level. Such results can be used in international disputes and cannot be contested due to possible measurement errors.
ILAC accreditation will allow the ministry to act as an independent expert in addressing transboundary environmental issues and within the framework of major industrial projects.
Ministry representatives note that the compliance of regional laboratories with the ISO 17025 standard is a response to societal demands for more transparent and professional environmental monitoring. Now, monitoring of the environmental situation in the southern regions is carried out according to standards adopted in leading countries around the world.
Obtaining this accreditation is an important part of the ministry's long-term strategy for modernizing the environmental safety system and implementing modern monitoring technologies.
