Since the beginning of the year, more than 1,800 applications have been received from low-income families
In Kyrgyzstan, the process of accepting applications for participation in the "Social Contract" program continues. As of March 11, 2026, according to the Ministry of Labor, Social Protection, and Migration, 1,825 applications have been submitted.
Currently, 607 social contracts have been concluded, of which 341 projects focus on the agricultural sector.
This program, initiated by the President of Kyrgyzstan, has been operating since 2022 and aims to support low-income families. Financial resources are provided within the framework of the program to start their own businesses.
Over the four years of the program's operation, 48,557 social contracts have been concluded across the country, the majority of which—73.3%—are related to agriculture. Additionally, 13.8% of projects are implemented in the manufacturing sector, 6.7% in trade, and 6.2% in services.
Initially, the amount of assistance under the social contract was 100,000 soms, but since 2025 it has been increased to 150,000 soms.
Among the first recipients of assistance, there are successful examples: 14 families managed to increase their annual income to more than 1 million soms.
According to the program, 94.2% of participants are women, most of whom live in rural areas. The implementation of the project has created over 57,000 new jobs.
In 2026, it is expected that 13,333 low-income families across the republic will be able to receive a social contract, each of which will receive 150,000 soms to develop their business.
