Representatives of the initiative group "BishkekSmog" reported that the Ministry of Culture, Information, and Youth Policy of the Kyrgyz Republic did not grant permission for the installation of a ventilated facade on the building of the Kyrgyz State Academy of Physical Culture and Sports.
This building is a monument of architecture of republican significance. The Ministry expressed gratitude to citizens for their activity and attention to the protection of historical heritage.
Earlier, residents of the capital expressed their concern about the facade renovation on Akhunbaeva Street, 97, fearing that the work could lead to the loss of the historical appearance of the monument, which was built in 1955 according to the designs of architects Yevgeny Pisarsky and Gennady Savvateev.
The Ministry of Culture also emphasized that all work that may change the appearance of the building must be carried out only with the approval of the relevant authorities.
