Kyrgyzstan is not ready to be the first to introduce a visa-free regime for Chinese citizens
Negotiations with Beijing continue
During a meeting of the Jogorku Kenesh, First Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Almaz Imangaziev stated that Kyrgyzstan is actively discussing the possibility of introducing a visa-free regime with China; however, the country is not ready to be the first to grant such privileges to Chinese citizens.
He noted that Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, and Russia have already established bilateral visa-free agreements with China. Kyrgyzstan is also participating in negotiations with Beijing, but the Chinese side has stipulated that Kyrgyzstan must be the first to introduce the visa-free regime.
Imangaziev added that the ongoing negotiations should lead to the introduction of a visa-free regime on a parity basis and with simultaneous implementation from both sides.
