Citizens of Uzgen express concern that some buildings on the territory of the local territorial hospital remain undemolished. Despite plans to expand the medical facility, a number of commercial establishments continue their operations.

Kanybek Apbasov, the akim of the Uzgen district, noted in an interview with Turmush that the demolition process of large facilities is delayed due to legal disputes.

He explained that the owners of some cafes and pharmacies, who have official ownership documents, refuse to voluntarily vacate their premises. These entrepreneurs have turned to the courts, citing significant investments made in their properties. "We are taking steps to return the land to state ownership through the courts. For this, archival documents are being studied, and the district prosecutor's office is preparing legal materials. However, the owners of small retail outlets have already agreed to dismantle their structures," added Apbasov.
Mirzokhid Mamatkasimov, the first deputy mayor of Uzgen for construction, clarified that the buildings that were on the balance of the mayor's office have been demolished, and contracts with tenants have been terminated. The exception is the plots with "red books" (state land certificates).

Earlier, the mayor of Uzgen, Eldos Taev, reported that the total area of the hospital complex is 8 hectares, of which 2 hectares were privatized after the collapse of the USSR.

Despite the disputes over land plots, the construction of a modern multidisciplinary hospital continues.

Brief information about the project:

- 1 billion 350 million soms has been allocated for construction.

- The hospital will accommodate 390 beds.

- The building will be 4-5 stories high, shaped like the letter "Ж".

- The construction work is being carried out by the company "Kyrgyz Stroy Service".

- The completion of construction and commissioning are scheduled for the end of 2026.

The new complex will also include the establishment of a modern infectious diseases department.
