Construction of the Kambarata HPP-1 is Gaining Momentum
In Kyrgyzstan, work is actively underway on one of the largest energy projects in Central Asia — the Kambaratinskaya HPP-1. This project aims to strengthen the energy security of Kyrgyzstan and the rational use of hydroenergy resources. This information was provided by the press service of the Ministry of Energy.
Upon completion of construction, the HPP will become the largest hydroenergy facility in the country with a capacity of 1,860 MW, which will significantly increase the volume of electricity production and enhance the country's independence in the energy sector.
Currently, active preparatory work is being carried out in the mountainous area of the Jalal-Abad region: roads are being laid, a 110 kV power line and substation are being constructed, a bridge over the Naryn River is being built, and a temporary settlement for workers is being created.
As of today, the following results have been achieved:
- the road from the Bishkek–Osh highway to the construction site is 90% ready;
- the excavation of a transport tunnel 126 m long has been completed;
- work on the construction of the 110 kV power line and substation is ongoing;
- the access road to the HPP site is 85% ready;
- the construction of the bridge is approximately 40–50% complete;
- the shift camp for 100 people is 60% ready.
