In Kyrgyzstan, a draft law titled "On the Heritage of Nomadic Civilizations and the Special Status of the World Nomad Games" has been put forward for public discussion.

According to the justification for the document, the aim of the draft law is to enshrine at the level of constitutional law the state policy aimed at preserving and developing the heritage of nomadic civilizations, as well as establishing a special international status for the World Nomad Games.

The document emphasizes that the existing legislation of Kyrgyzstan regulates cultural and sports issues fragmentarily and does not include provisions that highlight the country's role as a center for the preservation and promotion of nomadic culture.

The World Nomad Games, which were initiated by Kyrgyzstan, have gained significant international recognition in a short period, becoming an important tool for cultural diplomacy and promoting the country's image.

Furthermore, in December 2025, the exclusive rights to the trademark World Nomad Games were transferred to the state ownership of Kyrgyzstan and registered in the established manner.

The draft law includes the following provisions:

The adoption of this law will create a stable legal framework for organizing the games and ensure the protection of their name, symbols, and concept.

The initiators claim that this document will not require additional expenditures from the republican budget and will not lead to negative social, economic, or legal consequences.

It is worth noting that the World Nomad Games were first held in Kyrgyzstan in 2014 and became an international platform for promoting ethnosports and the culture of nomadic peoples. The VI Nomad Games are scheduled to take place in Kyrgyzstan in 2026.
