The Vice Mayor of Bishkek, Azamat Kadyrov, announced that the city authorities have abandoned the idea of constructing a nine-story building next to the city hall. Instead, an underground parking facility will be built in that location. This decision was announced at a meeting of the permanent commission of the Bishkek City Council, which deals with issues of municipal property, urban planning, and architecture.

Deputy Almaz Askar uulu from the "El umut" faction raised the question about the fate of this project.

Kadyrov explained that the initial project for the multi-story building had been revised, and now the plan is to create an underground parking lot with a landscaped area. "Above it, a park will be organized for the leisure of the city's residents," noted the vice mayor.

Thus, instead of a nine-story building, there will be a parking lot behind the city hall, and above it, a public space for the capital's residents will be located.

It was previously reported that preparatory work for the construction of a new administrative complex has begun at the site of the closed parking lot near the city hall on Kyiv Street.
