Aibek Junushaliev commented on the video about the property of Kuanyshbek Kongantieva
He noted that among the deputies of the Bishkek City Council, there are frequent cases where municipal property is used for personal purposes. The mayor reminded that on January 30, 2025, during a dispute with the deputies of the "Zhanı Kutch" faction, data on property ownership was discussed. In his opinion, the information about the nine plots of land rented by the deputies represents only 10-15% of the actual situation. These facts have already been forwarded to law enforcement agencies.
“When information becomes known, it is passed on to law enforcement agencies for verification. However, for the sake of fairness, I want to emphasize that we have addressed not only the deputies but also the leadership of the mayor's office. If any municipal property has been leased or privatized, a check must be conducted, including on our relatives. If the facts are confirmed, appropriate measures should be taken. The property must return to the ownership of the mayor's office, as we strive to increase non-tax revenues. We considered the issue not only of raising rental fees but also of expanding the base. If such videos or actions appear now, it may be a continuation of our work or part of a systemic check. We have no other information. We exercised our legal right and submitted the available data,” he noted.
It is worth mentioning that the day before, a video appeared on social media, detailing his assets and connections. The author claims that people close to Kongantiyev have dozens of companies and various businesses. It is alleged that Kongantiyev, while serving as a deputy of the Bishkek City Council and heading the land commission, supposedly rented several plots in the capital at undervalued prices and then registered them in his name, building multi-story houses and commercial buildings. It is also reported that part of the property is registered in the name of his mother and close relatives.
Kongantiyev has not yet commented on these statements. However, on March 10, he resigned from his position as a deputy of the Jogorku Kenesh, and later it became known that he was detained on suspicion of corruption.
