The mayor of the capital spoke about the unlawful use of municipal property by BGK deputies
The mayor of Bishkek, Aibek Junushaliev, commented on the situation regarding some deputies of the Bishkek City Council potentially using municipal property for their own interests.
During an investigation on January 30, 2025, with representatives of the "Zhanı Kutch" ("New Force") faction in the BGK, nine plots of land rented by deputies were mentioned.
According to the mayor, "this is only 10-15 percent of all available information. We have already submitted the collected materials to law enforcement agencies for further verification. It is important to note that we are not limiting ourselves to just the deputies. All municipal property that has been rented or privatized must be checked in accordance with the law, including property belonging to our relatives," Junushaliev stated.
Additionally, at one of the meetings, deputy Maksat Toktogulov reported that one of the elected officials rents a plot of land from the city authorities for 66,000 soms per month and then subleases it for 9,000 dollars.
