
At the meeting of the Committee on Science, Education, Innovative Development and Information Technologies, Culture, Sports, and Affairs of the Jogorku Kenesh, a draft law regarding amendments to the Law of the Kyrgyz Republic "On Television and Radio Broadcasting" was reviewed and approved in the first reading.
This draft law was initiated by the Cabinet of Ministers.
According to the Deputy Minister of Culture, Information and Youth Policy Marat Tagaev, the purpose of this draft law is to adapt its provisions to the new version of the Digital Code and the Law "On Mass Media," which will come into effect on August 6, 2025. In particular, it is proposed to replace the phrase "by the Law 'On Electric and Postal Communications'" with "the Digital Code".
During the discussion, deputies, including Seidbek Atambaev, Gulsharkan Kultaev, and Saltanat Amanova, raised several questions regarding the draft law, emphasizing the importance of accuracy, objectivity, and the quality of information that will be disseminated.
Saltanat Amanova also touched on the topic of increasing salaries for employees of state print media and the need to address housing issues.
