How to Eat Properly During Ramadan, Experts Remind

The Bishkek Health Strengthening Center provided advice to Muslims on how to properly organize their nutrition during the fasting period.

Experts explained how to maintain health during daytime fasting and after sunset.

Following a few simple rules can significantly improve health.

The most important aspect is maintaining water balance. Consuming enough fluids after breaking the fast and during Suhoor will help avoid dehydration.

It is advisable to avoid foods that can cause thirst, such as salty snacks, canned goods, pickled products, and spices. Instead, it is recommended to increase the intake of fruits and vegetables that help restore the body's water reserves.

Doctors strongly advise starting Iftar gradually. Abruptly consuming a large amount of food after a long fast can lead to discomfort and digestive issues. It is better to start with water, dates, and light foods like soup or salad, and then move on to main dishes.

Balanced nutrition is also very important. The diet should include all key food groups: proteins, vegetables, grains, fruits, and healthy fats.

Experts also recommend limiting the intake of sweets, as excess sugar can cause bloating and fluctuations in blood glucose levels. Dates, dried fruits, and candied fruits are suggested as healthier alternatives.

Specialists recommend three meals during Ramadan, including Iftar, a light snack, and Suhoor, to avoid continuous eating from evening until morning.
