The activist was previously convicted on charges of "Mass Riots" and "Public Calls for Violent Seizure of Power".
The Supreme Court reported that Azamat Maripov, an activist and social media user, has been released on probation.
According to court information, the probation will last for 3 years.
In October 2025, Maripov was found guilty under the articles regarding "Mass Riots" and "Public Calls for Violent Seizure of Power", which ultimately resulted in 6 years of imprisonment for his publications.
Additionally, Azamat has repeatedly criticized Kanibek Tumanbaev, the head of the president's administration. In response, the official stated that the activist had asked him for 13 thousand dollars for a wedding and later became involved in a blackmail scheme along with other individuals.
Furthermore, in April 2024, Maripov came under investigation for a case involving the beating and illegal detention of a resident of the capital.
Azamat is also the brother of Kudret Taychabarov, the former head of the Tourism Development Fund, who is currently under investigation and in custody on suspicion of connections with an organized criminal group.
