Two Million Soms for Innovations. Ministry of Science Introduces Selection of Promising Developments
This document is part of the implementation of the National Development Program of Kyrgyzstan until 2030, which was approved by a presidential decree. Its goal is to create a legal framework to support innovative projects and the operation of the innovation center functioning under the ministry.
According to the proposed draft, the selection of promising technologies will be conducted on a competitive basis. Applications will undergo expert evaluation, during which specialists will assess the level of technological readiness, innovativeness, practical applicability, scaling potential, and expected socio-economic impact of the projects.
An expert commission consisting of specialists in the fields of science, technology, entrepreneurship, and innovation is planned to be created to evaluate the proposed developments.
The ministry emphasizes that the new procedure will allow for the identification and support of projects with high potential in both scientific-technical and commercial spheres, as well as accelerate the integration of scientific developments into the country's economy and develop prototyping.
Furthermore, it is expected that the activation of patent activities by scientific organizations and universities will help attract private investments and support the development of technological entrepreneurship.
The republican budget of the ministry provides for the allocation of up to 2 million soms for financing projects that have passed the competitive selection.
