"Battle for the Pavilions": Interest from Entrepreneurs in the Municipal Market "Kerben" is Growing in Kara-Balta
Today, March 5, the third auction is taking place, offering containers at the municipal market "Kerben." A total of 36 pavilions (lots) are up for bidding.
According to the municipal property management of the Kara-Balta city administration, 369 applications were submitted to participate in the auction.
The competition for some lots is significantly high. For example, 51 participants are competing for lot No. 41.
There are a total of 79 pavilions represented at the "Kerben" market, with the third round of the auction including only the remaining containers, as the previous ones have already been allocated.
It is worth noting that in 2024, Kara-Balta received the status of regional significance and expanded its borders as a result of an administrative-territorial reform. The city also received a targeted transfer of 1 billion soms to finance various facilities, including the launch of the "Kerben" market.
It was previously reported that in August 2025, the second auction for the distribution of trading places at the "Kerben" market took place in Kara-Balta. This time, 35 pavilions were put up for auction, but two of them received no applications, resulting in 33 being contested.
In the second auction, the number of participants was 208, which is significantly lower compared to the first, where 507 people registered. Five applicants were not allowed to participate in the auction due to the lack of necessary documents and failure to submit a 30% guarantee.
The most interest was generated by lot No. 42, for which 13 participants competed.
The starting price for the pavilions was 595 soms per square meter, with their area ranging from 14 to 18 m².
It should be noted that after the first auction, many winners refused their lots, as the rental price turned out to be too high — its maximum cost reached 262,000 soms per month, which was a result of price increases during the bidding.
