Evacuation of Kyrgyz citizens from the Middle East. 'We were in the hands of Allah'

Citizens who returned from Jeddah shared their experiences

Recently, a flight from Jeddah arrived at Manas International Airport, bringing 90 Kyrgyz citizens back home. About 120 more people arrived in Osh.

The arrivals in Bishkek shared their impressions of their stay in Saudi Arabia when military actions began in the region involving Iran, Israel, and the USA.

Ramiz, one of the passengers, reported: “We were not allowed to return home, but thanks to the support of the president, the muftiate, and the embassy, we were able to come back. We were supposed to fly out on the night of February 28, and the hotel was provided to us by a company that organizes Umrah.”

Torokeldi Ashymov noted that all organizational issues were resolved at a high level.

“The company organized our departure with state support, and a plane was allocated for us. The Kyrgyz citizens were all well, and everyone was in a good mood. We did not hear any explosions; we were in Mecca, where it was calm. We were planning to fly out, but on that day all flights were canceled. In the end, we returned after three days,” he added.

Zura apa, one of the female passengers, shared her feeling of calm at that moment: “Representatives of the Umrah organization company were with us all the time. We all understood that we were in the hands of Allah, so I was calm. Some even said that we should stay for a few more days in the holy places and enjoy it.”

As a reminder, special flights on the routes Jeddah – Bishkek and Jeddah – Osh were organized by the authorities and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for the return of citizens to their homeland.
