The parliament raised the issue of difficulties faced by domestic exporters at the border with Kazakhstan

Deputies noted that exporters face problems and uncertainties when crossing the border

At a meeting of the Jogorku Kenesh, Deputy Mahabat Mavlyanova raised the issue faced by Kyrgyz exporters at the border with Kazakhstan.

She cited the situation with carriers of seedlings as an example.

According to her, when attempting to enter Kazakhstan, they are forced to unload their goods and reload each plant again. This leads to additional costs for businesspeople.

“Exporters are forced to pay for unloading and reloading services, as well as lose time due to transport downtime, which can last one to two days. As a result, the quality of the seedlings deteriorates,” the deputy noted.

Mavlyanova emphasized that such situations occur frequently and asked where exactly exporters should turn for help.

Deputy Chairman of the Border Service Marat Maralbaev responded that the problem is not limited to the border service alone.

“There is also veterinary control. Kazakhstan has its own requirements and legislation. It is important to remember that we are part of the Eurasian Economic Union. Exporters should contact the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kyrgyzstan. The contacts for the duty service can be found on the MFA website,” he added.
