The Mandatory Health Insurance Fund (FOMS) draws attention to the fact that persistent symptoms such as weakness, drowsiness, and dizziness may signal a low level of hemoglobin, which requires attention to the possibility of anemia. Experts emphasize the importance of early diagnosis to prevent serious health issues.
According to FOMS information, all citizens of the Kyrgyz Republic are entitled to a minimum set of medical services even without insured status. This package includes 12 different types of medical assistance, including a general blood test to determine hemoglobin levels.
To undergo an examination without payment, one must be registered with a Family Medicine Center (FMC) or a General Practice Center (GPC) and consult a family doctor for a referral for the test. If all conditions are met, the test will be performed free of charge.
FOMS also adds that having a mandatory health insurance policy significantly improves access to medical services. Insured citizens can take advantage of more than 40 additional types of laboratory tests, including biochemistry and hormonal tests, as well as receive medications with discounts of up to 50% and undergo various instrumental studies, such as ultrasound and X-rays, within the framework of the State Guarantee Program.
If a patient is denied a free test or has questions regarding obtaining a discounted prescription, they can contact the FOMS hotline at 113. The call is free, and specialists will help check the insurance status and explain the procedure for obtaining a mandatory health insurance policy.
