360 citizens of Kyrgyzstan will be transported from Oman, including women, children, and elderly people, via two flights.
During a meeting of the Jogorku Kenesh, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Almaz Imangaziev reported on the current evacuation process of Kyrgyz citizens from Middle Eastern countries.
He specified that the armed conflict has affected several states, including Iran, Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Qatar, Kuwait, Bahrain, and Israel, resulting in eight countries completely closing their airspace.
It is estimated that approximately 20,000 citizens of Kyrgyzstan are in the region.
“The most difficult situation is in the UAE, where about 10,000 of our citizens reside. Of these, 1,200 have requested evacuation, while the others are residents and live there permanently,” noted Imangaziev.
Repatriation flights from the UAE are planned to start on the night of March 4 to 5.
“In the morning, two planes will depart from Oman. The consulate in Abu Dhabi is organizing buses to gather citizens. A total of 360 people, including women, children, and the elderly, will be evacuated on these two flights,” added the deputy minister.
Additionally, there are about 7,000 Kyrgyz citizens in Saudi Arabia, of which 1,000 are permanent residents, and 5,000 to 6,000 are pilgrims. About 1,000 people have requested evacuation.
“By 16:00 today, the arrival of 127 and 90 people in Bishkek and Osh, respectively, is expected. Air traffic in the country continues, with the next flight scheduled for Friday,” reported Imangaziev.
There are only 100 citizens of Kyrgyzstan in Iran, one of whom has already been evacuated to Azerbaijan with the help of Russian authorities.
Kyrgyz citizens are also present in Bahrain and Kuwait.
