Deputy: Chief Doctors of State Hospitals Pay Fines for Ambulance Traffic Violations from Their Own Pockets
She noted that fines are imposed on emergency vehicles for traffic violations.
“Ambulances are sometimes forced to violate the rules in order to quickly reach the scene of a call. We do not have dedicated lanes for emergency vehicles. Fines can only be canceled if the emergency lights are functioning, but they often break down. Each fine requires a written appeal. The amounts of the fines are significant, and such expenses are not provided for in the hospital budgets, which is why chief doctors have to cover these fines from their personal funds,” the deputy said, suggesting to simplify and digitize the process, which takes too much time.
