In the Ak-Tal district of the Naryn region, measures are being developed to protect the irrigation canal, as about 300 hectares of land are at risk.

According to information, representatives of the Ministry of Emergency Situations conducted an inspection of the banks of the Naryn River, which threaten agricultural lands, to assess the situation.

During a visit on March 1, Minister Urmatbek Shamyrkanov, according to the head of the district emergency department Tashatbek Mokeev, familiarized himself with the areas affected by erosion. In particular, he visited the village of Togolok Moldo, where the river is washing away the lands of local farmers, creating a critical situation. The area of the Shyrdakbek-Saya riverbed, passing through the village of Cholok-Kayin in the Ala-Buga ayil district, was also inspected.
As a result of the inspection, relevant agencies and local authorities were instructed to urgently develop projects for bank protection works. The minister also checked the progress of the construction of a new building for the district fire service in the village of Bayetov.

Previously, residents of these villages appealed to the authorities through Turmush for assistance, reporting that the Naryn River's channel has shifted towards the right bank, resulting in water already washing away several hectares of arable land. The only irrigation canal that supplies water to hundreds of hectares of land is under threat of destruction.

According to the district emergency department, on the southern side of the village of Kara-Oy (formerly Togolok Moldo), erosion has occurred along approximately 450–500 meters of the coastline in the Chekendi-Talaa and Kyzyl-Emgek areas. Eleven hectares of arable land have been affected, of which 8.6 hectares have been completely washed away. Currently, another 50–60 hectares are at risk. The distance between the water's edge and the "Naryn" irrigation canal, which provides irrigation for 250–300 hectares of land, has reduced to 15–18 meters. The processes of bank erosion have significantly intensified during the period from 2023 to 2024.
