The progress of engineering equipment at the state border and measures against smuggling discussed in Kulunda
On March 3, 2026, a working meeting was held in the Leilek district, in the village of Kulundu, dedicated to border security issues. The event was chaired by Abdikarim Alimbaev, the chairman of the State Border Service of the Kyrgyz Republic, as reported by the press service of the agency.
The main topics of discussion included the progress of engineering works on the Kyrgyz-Tajik section of the state border, measures to combat smuggling, and an analysis of the current global political situation.
Representatives from military units, border divisions, as well as the akim of the Leilek district of the Batken region, Zhenishbek Asylbek, and employees of law enforcement and security agencies participated in the meeting.
As a result of the discussions, specific recommendations were issued to strengthen the physical and engineering security of the border, enhance the effectiveness of preventive measures, and improve the exchange of operational information between various units.
