A new large cultural center will open in Bishkek
Today, March 3, a ceremonial capsule laying took place in Bishkek for the foundation of a new cultural center, organized with the support of the Ministry of Culture, Information and Youth Policy, as well as the city administration. The event was attended by the Minister of Culture Mirbek Mambetaliev and the Mayor of Bishkek Aibek Junushaliev.
Minister Mambetaliev emphasized that the cooperation between the ministry and the city administration is an example of effective interaction. He expressed hope that the new cultural center will become an important venue for theaters, concerts, film screenings, and youth initiatives. He also noted that this space will contribute to the development of creative industries and dialogue among creative individuals.
It is worth adding that the building of the old "Chatyr-Kul" cinema was transferred to the management of the state youth theater "Uchur" in 2009. However, in 2025 it was declared emergency, and it was decided to demolish it. After that, the building was transferred to the administration of Bishkek, where the necessary funds were allocated to begin the construction of a new modern complex.
