In connection with the tense situation in the Middle East, the Mufti of Kyrgyzstan, Abdulaziz Kary Zakirov, made an appeal to compatriots in Saudi Arabia.
“The situation in the Middle East is extremely alarming, which has led to the cancellation of flights for pilgrims. This has created extraordinary circumstances,” he noted.

In his address, the Mufti urged Kyrgyzstani citizens in Mecca and Medina for Umrah to be patient and follow the instructions of tour operators and Umrah organizers. He also called for not succumbing to panic and to wait for the situation to improve, adding that they are expected to pray for peace, unity of the Ummah, and the development of the country.

The Spiritual Administration of Muslims of Kyrgyzstan strongly recommends that those planning to undertake pilgrimage closely monitor events and only travel after the situation in the region stabilizes.

Additionally, Zakirov noted that the authorities of the country are taking necessary steps to return Kyrgyz citizens to their homeland.
