In an interview with the news agency "Vesti," the speaker of the Jogorku Kenesh, Marlen Mamataliyev, spoke about new priorities in the work of the legislative body and the political situation in the country.
Support for the President in Legislation
According to Mamataliyev, the main goal of the parliament at the moment is not to create an independent political agenda, but to form a reliable legislative framework to support the president's strategy.
“The president is responsible for foreign and domestic policy, as well as for the economy. If he defines the course of development, our task is to support it,” emphasized the speaker.
Deputies are focusing on developing laws, monitoring their implementation, and interacting with citizens.
Transition to Digitalization
Marlen Mamataliyev also announced an upcoming administrative reform in the parliament. Over the next few months, the Jogorku Kenesh plans to fully transition to digital management.
This transition will affect all aspects of work, from drafting bills to committee meetings. Citizens will be able to contact deputies online, significantly increasing the transparency of government operations.
Strengthening Ties with Russia
In the new political configuration, special attention is given to developing relations with Russia. The Speaker of the Jogorku Kenesh confirmed that Russia remains a strategic partner of Kyrgyzstan, and cooperation at the inter-parliamentary level will increase in 2026.
One of the key areas will be addressing issues related to labor migrants.
Marlen Mamataliyev noted the importance of active cooperation with the State Duma of Russia on bills that directly affect the lives of Kyrgyz citizens in the country.
