On February 27, a meeting dedicated to the prevention of offenses among youth was held in the capital municipality under the leadership of Deputy Mayor Victoria Mozgacheva, with representatives from various institutions in attendance.
According to the Bishkek City Hall, the meeting discussed measures to improve control over adolescents in public places during the evening and night hours without adult supervision, as well as the necessity of conducting educational activities for children and their parents. Special attention was given to the responsibility of cafes and restaurants that allow minors to be present and contribute to begging.
It was emphasized that strict control over establishments will be implemented, and in case of violations regarding the presence of children, appropriate measures will be taken in accordance with the law.
“Recently, there has been an increase in cases where youth perform jaramazan and spend time in entertainment venues, being on the streets and intersections, which poses a danger to their safety. There are also instances where children persistently ask for money transfers via QR codes. We respect our culture and traditions, but jaramazan should not turn into begging, and the safety of children must be a priority. We urge parents to be attentive and not leave minors unsupervised,” noted Victoria Mozgacheva.
As a result of the meeting, the akimats were instructed to conduct joint raids with juvenile inspectors and patrol service officers.
Bishkek City Hall emphasizes that all measures taken are aimed at protecting the rights, health, and safety of children, and calls on parents to monitor the whereabouts of their children during the evening and night hours.
